LITEXTRA

Literature, Experience, Transmission

Visuel centre Litextra

Overview

The “Literature, Experience, Transmission” team (LITEXTRA) conducts research on the sharing and transmission of facts, knowledge and literary practices, particularly from primary school to university. The team focuses on scholastic reading-writing of literature through:

  • the didactic paradigm of the reading subject and the writing subject, on the student side as well as the literary teacher side;
  • literary reading practices and the exercises to which they give rise, whether canonical or a fresh take on the genre;
  • school practices that take into account a study of the role of the values conveyed in texts and their readings;
  • new ways to teach literature related to the use of digital technology in production and reception, between online literary resources and academic uses of these resources.

While the centre devotes a portion of its research to this future use of heritage texts in educational settings, its work also focuses on certain literary fields and genres such as children’s literature in its wide variety of forms: novels, theatre (text and performance), contemporary poetry, argumentative writing, life stories. It also explores the links between literature and visual arts (painting, illustrated literature etc.) from a didactic perspective.
